Josh Groban and Kelly Clarkson Unite for a Spellbinding “Phantom of the Opera” Performance.

Acclaimed vocalists Josh Groban and Kelly Clarkson teamed up for a mesmerizing Broadway duet that captivated the audience. Their magical performance was part of Groban’s Stages Live event, broadcast as a PBS special. The event showcased iconic musical theater numbers, including a standout rendition of “All I Ask of You” from The Phantom of the Opera, performed by Groban and Clarkson.

Groban, a lifelong Broadway enthusiast, fulfilled a personal dream with his album Stages, which includes beloved musical theater songs he’s longed to perform. Among these, “All I Ask of You” needed a unique voice for Christine, and Clarkson was Groban’s perfect choice.

The Stages Live event delighted fans with live interpretations of Groban’s favorite musical covers. He shared with the audience the importance of recording “All I Ask of You” with a distinctive voice, hinting at Clarkson’s involvement. When Clarkson appeared on stage in a stunning black dress, it was clear she shared Groban’s passion for Broadway, revealing that The Phantom of the Opera was her first musical experience.

Their duet, a love song between Raoul and Christine Daaé, allowed Clarkson to fulfill her dream of playing Christine, thanks to Groban. His performance reaffirmed his reputation as a beloved singer, captivating the audience, while Clarkson’s powerful delivery showcased her aptitude for musical theater.

Both Groban and Clarkson have achieved significant success in their careers. Clarkson catapulted to fame after winning the inaugural season of American Idol in 2002, which kickstarted her flourishing music career. Groban has seen considerable success as well, with his first four albums receiving multi-platinum certifications and being named the top-selling artist in the United States in 2007.
